Benjamin is 23 months (Sniff! Sniff!)

  • Everytime he has a messy face from food or his drink, or if something is all over his hands, he turns to me and says "Messss". Is he going to be a germ-o-phobe like his sissy?
  • He thinks that just about every drink or cup is milk and calls it "mulk", except for a coffee cup in ME's play kitchen...he call is "coff" and then says VeVe after that and then blows it. VeVe, what have you been teaching him? Ha!
  • He still drags his "mahee" (blankey) around the house and into the car most days
  • Just like the word blankey, he's been replacing the beginnings of a lot of other words with another letter instead. Like snot is "not", excuse me is "mume"...he sounds like Beaker from the Muppets, shoes is "ooes", sock is "hock" or "ock", up is "bup", and climb is "my". He may not be talking nearly as much as ME or McKenzie was at this age (and I know you're not supposed to compare, but it's hard not to!), but he definitely has developed his own language and I love it, espcecially since I can at least understand him!

  • He loves to say "Wait!" If there is a group of kids going to play elsewhere and he realizes they're leaving him, he immediately starts chasing them yelling, "Wait!" This phrase is especially hard on a momma who doesn't want to work and leaves every morning with Benjamin chasing after me through the kitchen yelling, "Mamma, wait! W-wait!"
