Happy Birthday, Daddy! (Part 1)

We celebrated Drew's birthday today in Florida. What better way to celebrate a bday? We are staying in a quaint little house with a kitchen, so I made him a cake (vanilla cake with vanilla icing...a little boring, so I had to add chocolate chips for myself). As you can tell, I need to go back to cake decorating school.

Meanwhile back in Little Rock, Mary Elizabeth is taking turns staying with her grandparents. Today at Veve's house, she helped wrap bday presents for Drew. You can tell that she had fun.

Happy 6 months!

Can you believe that 6 months is already here? We can't!!! ME has developed such a fun personality. I'm really sad to say, though, that we missed her month bday yesterday because Drew and I are on vacation with our friends, the Atkins, in Florida. Yes, I'm spending an entire week away from her, but I think I'm going to survive. I don't have any major stats on her, but I did get her weighed last week and she is 18 pounds now. So her weight is slowing down. But her being "on-the-go" is picking up. I think she will be crawling any day now (just hopefully not while Drew and I are on vacay). She loves schooching backward and getting up on all fours, so childproofing here we come! I take her next week for her 6 month checkup, so I'll have more stats later.

Zoo wild

I'm sorry for the next 6 posts, but I'm trying to catch back up. Scroll down and start with "Let's play some more catch up" first, then read back up toward the top. Thank you, again, to everyone that stays interested in our lives and wanting to know what's going on in ME's world.
Now that summer has officially started for me and my friends, we are getting together once a week for play dates. This week, we took the kids to the zoo. It was a very nice day for the zoo...not too hot! ME was interested in the animals for just a little bit. She mainly focused on people watching (she is definitely my child and Grandy's granddaughter!). Here are some of the pictures from today.
Megan, ME, and Mason
Watching 2 monkeys having a scuffle.

Once again, she is still catching up on her sleep from this past weekend, so she thought it would be a good time to do this during the monkey section.

ME didn't care to wake up for the carousel ride until the ride actually started. So we stayed with all of the strollers and baby Carter while everyone else enjoyed the ride.

Hot fun in the summer

Well, I finally got to take ME to the pool yesterday! Drew specifically said that she couldn't go her first time without him. I'm glad we waited so we could get some pix of this fun time. After such a long and tiring, yet very fun weekend with Scott's wedding, she is trying to any "z" where she can, so she fell asleep right before we pulled into the parking lot and stayed asleep until we actually got to the pool chairs. I was feeling a little nervous about how she would do since she was sleepy, but I am very excited to say that we might have a fish in our family!!! That makes me so happy considering how much I love to swim. I can't wait to take her again!

Once again, she had to catch any extra z's. Drew and I loved how she had her head propped up when we got ready to get her out of the car.

The picture above kind of shows her cover up (which Drew really loves). I know that this isn't the best picture, but I have to show off her bathing suit that Anna Carol and Kerri got her (which Drew really doesn't love). :)

Happy Father's Day!

Although we got in late on Sunday afternoon, ME and I couldn't wait to give her daddy his first Father's Day gift. Before we headed back to LR, we stopped by the Razorback tennis court to take pictures of ME in her tennis skirt. My mom and I had too much fun making her pose for the pix. I'll have to post the pictures of her later.

Thank you, Drew, for being such a loving daddy to our sweet baby girl. ME and I couldn't ask for a better daddy than you! We both love you!

ME's 1st wedding weekend

We just got back from a long weekend in NW Arkansas to setup for and celebrate Scott's (a long-time family friend) wedding. Lala, ME, and I went up early Thursday morning and worked everyday until it was time for the wedding. It was tiring, but so worth it! I have to say that ME was the best baby to be able to tote around while working on all of the decorations at the same time. But I think she is very glad to be back at home and able to catch up on her z's!

The night before we left

Drew didn't go with us, so the 2 of them had a little bonding time the night before we left. She had some "tummy issues" last week, so Drew gave her the 1st taste of prune juice. I don't think she got her like for fruit juice from me!

Setting up for the recption

Scott's reception was at his parents home. "The boss" took a break from arranging flowers and setting up 360 + candles to play with Annie. I think we might have a vetrinarian on our hands as much as she loves dogs!

After we worked on Thursday, ME and I met some of my friends that I graduated interior design school with for dinner. It was fun to see them and catch up on their lives. ME had a blast meeting Aubrey and Sarah.

The Bridal Luncheon

She and Caroline had their own place settings at the luncheon. She enjoyed hanging out with the girls.

ME and Lala telling Miss Becky all about the reception set-up.

Tired Caroline and Miss Helen
The Rehearsal Dinner
The dinner at Doe's was wonderful! She enjoyed watching the video of Kristian and Scott and flirting with everyone there.

"I have my very own seat, so where's my steak?"

"Hey, Uncle B, have you seen my new trick? I can raise my arms when Grandy sings!"

The Wedding
The wedding was so pretty and sweet. It was at Cooper Chapel in Bella Vista. Gorgeous! ME did great through the whole ceremony. She enjoyed it so much, that it wore her out.

She sucked on her paci so hard that she made the people in front of us laugh throughout the wedding. She sounded like Maggie Simpson.

The Owens/Lampkin family now complete (minus Drew)

"Hey, Mr. Steve, the wedding 'keck' was great!"

"This isn't cake!"

ME has big dancing shoes to fill if she wants to fit in with our fam. We all love to dance!

"Can we sit, please?!?"

She never got her dance with the groom, but she got to sit right next to him.

10:00 pm and still trying to party
10:45 pm -- "Finally, Elvis left the building and I can get some shuteye!"

The ride home

Home sweet home (in 3 hours)!

Take ME out to the ballgame

What better way for ME to experience her first Travelers game than with her Uncle Bebo? I took her to the baseball game a few weeks and she, for some reason, loved it. (ME, if you only knew how many BORING games I sat and watched your uncle play, you wouldn't care too much about it!) Seriously, though, she did enjoy people watching, which is quite easy to do at a Travs game. Also, she really wanted Brant's hot dog (maybe next year). After the game, they had a really amazing firework show. To my surprise, ME seemed mesmerized by the lights. She didn't cry at all!
Who's on 1st?

Go Travs!

Let's catch up some more

OK, so I know that I've been behind on blogging, but I have good reasons. First, my Internet wasn't working, and now my computer doesn't work. So I'm using other people's computers because I've been itching to blog for the past few weeks. So I'm sorry for so many posts all at one time. I can't believe that it's already the middle of June, but our summer has already flown by!
First about a month ago, Lala (my mom) bought Mary Elizabeth a new toy for their house. I'm not sure who likes it more, Lala or ME, but it's pretty fun to watch our little girl play with it.
This is her Memorial Day picture. I forgot to add it to the last post.

She likes to spin the numbers.
Also, the most important thing that has happened is that I finished my 3rd year of teaching and am off for the summer!!! The day I went back to work, I put a countdown on the board (for myself and my kiddos). That really helped me get through each day. Now I get to pretty much spend the rest of my summer with ME!
