Is Benjamin really 1 already?!?!

Our sweet birthday boy!
One-month-old on the top...one-year-old on the bottom. My how he's grown and changed so much already!

Benjamin's birthday...er...uh...birthweekend was full of fun! My students were out of school on his birthday, so I felt like I needed to take a personal day to celebrate his day with him. We started off the day by eating waffles as a family (a rare treat).
Enjoying his birthday breakfast with a side of good convo with Dandy. I'm sure Dandy was singing the traditional "Happy Birthday" song over the phone just like my Granny always did. :)

Then we headed to the Pumpkin Patch to tag along with ME's field trip. How perfect! We had a great time and the weather was pretty good, too!

I felt so privileged to get to spend such a great day with both my kiddos! Drew even got to stop by the field trip for a little bit, too.

After the field trip, we came back home for some much needed baths and naps. Then we opened a few presents once Drew got home and played for a little while. At first, Benjamin wasn't quite so sure about the opening the presents part; but, he sure did get the hang of the playing part pretty fast!

What would a birthday be without any cake or ice cream? Well, he didn't have any cake since we were having his party two days later, but we certainly found ourselves some ice cream after we had dinner at La Hacienda.

ME sure did enjoy Benjamin's birthday just as much as he did! She's learned how to sing "Happy Birthday" very well. Please call if you need a singing telegram from a cute 2-year-old.

Sweet Benjamin,

Thank you so much for lighting up our lives everyday with that sparkling smile! It just melts my heart every time I see those sweet dimples. I can't wait to see what kind of man you grow up to be and wish you a life full of happiness and adventure. Happy Birthday, Pumpkin!

Love those pics of Ben & ME--he is too cute for words. What a heart breaker he's going to be :-) How is it possible he is ONE? Glad you got to spend a fun day with them on his b-day!
