Memorial Day Weekend

We had a nice long weekend. Nothing too exciting, but we enjoyed our entire weekend!

Saturday
We woke up Saturday morning to find Mary Elizabeth's eye pink and crusty. I took her to the Children's after-hours clinic to find out what we already knew...she had pink eye. Luckily, we caught it early. While we were there, she got weighed and she is now 17.3 pounds. No wonder our new friend, Carter, feels like a feather with his full 7 lbs!
Maybe she'll be a rich and famous (like it says on her dress) artist one day!

Since we didn't have any plans for the day, we decided to go to the Museum of Art to catch up on the new gallery showing. It was a cool exhibit of "Cool Color, Hot Glass". I only wish that I had all of that amazing, colorful glass! Mary Elizabeth, of course, stared intently while I carried her around to show her the art. We hope that she'll have an appreciation for art, and become a wonderful artist!

After the art museum, all three of us came home and laid down. ME always is trying to hold something while taking a nap, so she grabbed her foot this time. After she got some rest, she thought it would be a great time to start to experiment with crawling. Luckily, she only could move in a circle and didn't get anywhere -- she just got mad instead. Can I put a ton of books on her to slow her down? I'm not ready for this stage!

Sunday
We survived our first night with Mary Elizabeth staying in "another zip code". OK, it was really just across the hall in her crib, but it really felt like another country! Yes, I know that she is 5 months old but I get attached to things very easily and have not been ready for ME to move to her own room. But recently she has really tried to rollover in her bassinet and gets upset that she flip around, so I thought I'd give her that freedom in her own bed. Hopefully this transition will be a smooth one with few middle-of-the-night awakenings.

I bet she loves rolling around in her big bed. Carson loves to sprawl out while he sleeps!!
