Be joyful always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

4 month checkup

Just leave me alone!

Drew took ME to the doctor today for her well-baby checkup. It was basically to find out what we already knew about her...that she's perfect! Drew did inform me, though, that he is never taking her again by himself when shots are involved. He said it was heartbreaking for him to watch his baby girl get stuck 4 times! I told my students this sad news, and they empathized with her as well. The good news is that my dad kept her today and he said that she wasn't fussy after the shots.

Weight: 15 lbs. 5 oz. (83%)
Height: 26 1/4 in long (97%) -- No wonder all of her clothes are too short.
Head: 16 in (40%)
I forgot to add on my last post that she has gotten really good at blowing raspberries. So good, in fact, that spit bubbles end up all over her and whomever she's talking to by the time she's finished "telling you her story".

Fantastic four...

months of happiness with our beautiful baby girl that is. Yes, Mary Elizabeth is actually four-months-old today! I wish that I had a fast forward/slow motion button on life. I need to fast forward so that I can speed through work and get back to her, but then slow down and truly embrace every second that I have with ME (pronounced Emme, for those that have been asking) once I get home. Drew and I are so blessed and are having so much fun with her as she does amazing new things almost everyday.

Some of the things that have been going on in ME's world:
Most importantly, she got Christened yesterday. We had a bunch of family in town for this event. She did so well during the service. When Bro. Fred sprinkled water on her head, she looked a little startled, but she got over that and enjoyed the rest of the ceremony.

Other updates:
I have survived my going back to work. I am very exhausted, but I know that ME is enjoying herself with her grandparents (and vice versa). This has been a big adjustment for all of us, and Drew has been great with taking care of her in the morning. Thank you to everyone that has helped out since I've gone back to work. Here's a recent picture of Drew and ME bonding that I thought was cute (I just wish you could hear her spit her bubbles). I think their morning routine has helped their bonding big time!

Also, I'm excited to say that I heard ME giggle twice this evening. It was the most precious noise ever and gave me a rush of excitement. Drew is taking ME to the Dr. later this week for her 4 month checkup, so I'll have her stats later.

A Blog of Many

I've been kind of behind on posting some things, so I thought I'd put them all into one post.
GARVAN GARDENS TRIP
My girlfriends and I decided that Wye Mtn. wasn't so bad, so we took the kids to Garvan Gardens in Hot Springs a few weeks later. It was absolutely gorgeous! Here are a few pix of ME. This was also the same time she started rolling over and she now wants to put everything in her mouth (notice she's trying to eat the bark while I'm trying to take her picture). Also, it's hard to take pictures of a baby that still can't hold up their head.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CARSON!
We went to Carson's birthday a few weeks ago. This is just one of ME's many boy friends. Here's a picture of her with just a few our boys that we'll be hanging out with this summer.

1st TRIP TO NW ARKANSAS
We went to NWA 2 weeks ago for Drew's fraternity centennial celebration and for a Sip 'n See for my friend, Ashley's daughter (Caroline). Unfortunately, I didn't take pix of mine and Drew's event, but I did get plenty of pix from Caroline's Sip 'n See. Caroline is beautiful and made ME look like she needs a tan. Maybe, one day, Mary Elizabeth with catch up with Caroline's hair and tan. Ashley, your daughter is beautiful! Oh, ME wanted to try on the tutu and bow for Caroline, so we took pictures of that as well.

FINALLY, A NEW TOY!
I introduced ME to her exersaucer last week. She is very serious when she's taking in new things. I thought her expression was pictureworthy, as well as her dangling legs.

Happy Tax Day!

Mary Elizabeth wanted to remind everyone to get their taxes done tomorrow.

I need your prayers (or at least $1 million)...

...or anything else that will help me get through tomorrow. I go back to work tomorrow and I'm completely dreading it. I know that I'm not the first to leave my baby and head back to the work field, but I'm just not looking forward to it. I went up to school last week to see where I need to pick things back up and to see what kind of shape my kids and class were in. Let's just say that I'm in for a rough time. To be positive, though, I'll only have about 6 1/2 weeks left of school and ME's grandparents, along with some other family members and friends, have been gracious enough to say that they'll take care of her these few weeks since we couldn't find a decent daycare for this short amount of time. So pray for me that I'll be able to be patient with my kids at school and that I don't just slack off with them because I know that these kids need me to help them out.

Oh, I took ME with me to school last week also. I wanted the kids to meet her so they'll know who I'm talking about. Sadly, she already went to the principal's office. I hope that this isn't a sign to her future education. :)

I don't think that ME was nearly in trouble as the girl on the floor.

Is Easter for real?

So I know that I'm really late in posting about Easter, but it's better late than never. Easter was quite unusual for me this year. I was really excited about it because I was looking forward to dressing up Mary Elizabeth in one of my dresses that I wore at 3 months old and introducing her to Drew's cousins in Batesville. Unfortunately, I got hit with a stomach bug early Sunday morning and got about 2 hours of sleep. So I informed Drew around 5 am that I wasn't going to Batesville, which also meant that ME wasn't going either. At this point she still wasn't taking the bottle very well, and we didn't want to risk the chance of her going out of town and being fussy and hungry the entire day. With all that said, I want to thank my parents a million times over for coming to my rescue that day. They went to church that morning, then skipped Easter breakfast with Brant and Kari to take care of me and ME. I was really disappointed that I didn't get to dress up ME in her outfit, so my mom and dad fixed that real quick. We took pictures of ME to show that we didn't totally dodge her 1st Easter. As you can see, her changing table is her happiest place.

Who does ME belong to?

My mom finally found my baby pictures. All along everyone has said how much Mary Elizabeth looks like Drew. What do you think? The top picture is Drew, and the 2nd picture is me. Also, I had to throw in my Papa's baby picture to show where she gets her cute cheeks from.
