Be joyful always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the floor...
Now that "Proud Mary" is stuck in your head, I had to share that Benjamin rolled over today! Of course, being a Christian seems to make me miss out on things. Just kidding! I was teaching the 2-year-old Sunday School class this morning and left Ben at home with Drew. I received a text from him saying that Ben rolled over. He said that he laid him down for a second and walked away, but when he came back to check on Ben, he was on his belly! My baby boy is growing up...sniff!

Ben's 4 month stats
I took Ben for his well-baby checkup on Tuesday and I found out that he is still well...even with his acid reflux issues. The doctor reassured me on some things like it's ok that he hasn't rolled over yet, even though ME already had by this point. It's so hard not to compare, but I know I don't need to do that! He also showed her that he knows how to blow raspberries very well! And he hasn't stopped that new trick since we've left the doctor's office either. ME thinks he's spitting and she does it back to him.

I'm excited that we get to start him on rice cereal now! I'll be posting about that soon.

4 months of love
Benjamin is four months old today and we're finally starting to develop somewhat of a routine.
We're learning his tired cry vs. his hungry cry vs. I don't know what "wah wah" cry means. One thing that is still quite evident is that Ben is a momma's boy through and through (I don't mind though)! Here's what's going on in Ben's world:
- He's discovered his thumb! It's cute right now, especially since he doesn't take the paci and it soothes him...but I pray he's not still sucking his thumb in 3rd grade like a few of my students do!
Wait, Mom! I've got to get one more suck on this thumb before I build a snowman!
Ahhh....!!! I took Ben to my school today and he was worn out after being passed around by all of my co-workers. He was too tired to even play with his toys. There's nothing better than a thumb after a hard day!
- He wants to roll over, but just hasn't gotten it yet. And he doesn't mind tummy time! He actually naps better that way!
- He "talks" all of the time, especially on his changing pad! There's lots of squeakin' and squealin' when he's on it!
Minor problem: I needed to paint while we were out for snow, but Ben wanted to watch me paint. Solution: Keep my son happy by moving his changing pad by me and I got to paint. Our conversation about what I was painting was very interesting. He gave great suggestions! ;)
- He loves to grab things dangling in front of his face, especially my hair. Man, he's strong!
- He's experimenting with the exersaucer. He's not quite sure what to think of it yet, though.
Holy Water, Valentine's Hearts, and Big Snow
Today has been a wonderful Valentine's Day! A year ago today, Drew and I found out that I was pregnant and today we dedicated our beautiful son to the Lord! Drew and I never really have been into celebrating this day, but I think this V-Day was so worth celebrating!
Ben and ME both did great during the service (for the most part). We never take ME to "big church" so she was quite intrigued with everything from the lights, stained glass, and "bootiful music". She especially enjoyed the kneeling pads at the altar! As for Ben, since he has such a sensitive stomach, I was so nervous about him having a dirty diaper while we were standing up in front of the congregation...luckily, he just had gas! While Ben was getting baptised, he was just taking in all of his surroundings and staring at the preachers very intently. ME stood with us through most of the baptism, then she decided she wanted to sit on the kneeling pads again, then stomp her feet and watch us from there, then she ran back to the pew to sit with the rest of our family, then came to stand with us again. Sound crazy? Luckily, she wasn't as bad as that all sounds because it all happened very fast and I thought it was quite funny! The cutest part was when Ben got water put on his head, ME asked "Ben all clean?"
ME discovered the kneeling pads before church started. She did not want to leave them.
Cousin McKenzie even dressed up for the occasion!
Why am I wearing this gown, Mom? The preacher even mentioned it during Ben's baptising. He said that hopefully this will be his last time to wear a dress. I wanted to tell him that it's not a dress...it's a Christening gown! And it's the same one that ME wore. The slip is monogrammed with both of the kids' names and their baptism date. Hopefully, their kids will wear it, too.
The view is way better here, guys!
This is a great feeling!
ME didn't want to leave, even after the service. Do you think the church would notice a few missing kneeling pads? Just kidding!
After church, we had a yummo lunch at my parents house with some of our family.

ME is pretty much over her "fear" of guys she's not around often. She's totally smitten with her Daddy Mike now!
Making the decision to raise Christian kids, spending time with family, and a big snow...what can make for a better Valentine's Day?

Going Private
I really hate to do this, but I feel that I need to for the sake of our kids. I've recently received bizarre comments and followers on this blog. Unfortunately, that means you'll have to log in using your email address to be able to read my blog. I'll go private sometime next week. In the meantime, if you still want to blog stalk us (don't feel bad if you do, because I do it all the time!) or read about our happenings, send me your email address at edees7@yahoo.com or leave a comment with your email address.
