7th Heaven

Can you believe that our baby doll is 7 months old today?!?!?! Neither can we!!! I don't think that I've mentioned that ME is now "crawling". It's not an army crawl, or tip-toe crawl...it's her own unique belly-flop/hike the leg up to start her engine/inch-worm crawl. It may take her a while to get somewhere, but once she gets her eye on something, she's after it. So no more leaving her on the bed while I take a shower. :( It's amazing to think that not too long ago, she could barely move and slept most of the day. Wow! How her personality and interests have developed now that she's on the go!

Since ME has done really well with her rice cereal, I introduced her to Sweet Peas today. As you can tell from the picture above, she is definitely my child. Most of you know that I can't stand fruits and most veggies b/c they're squishy, so you can only imagine what was going through my head as I was giving the jar of smelly nastiness to her. However, since I want to do what's best for her, I'll give her another shot and hope that she'll be a better eater than me.

Mary Elizabeth, Daddy and I have enjoyed our past 7 months with you and can't imagine what life would be like right now without you (I'm sure extremely boring!). We love watching your personality blossom everyday and can't wait to spend a gazillion more months with you.

Happy Birthday, Daddy (Part 3) and Uncle Bebo!

This was a busy weekend for us! I was in my friend's (Aaron) wedding this past weekend, so I had a lot of running around for that. It was fun, though. We got to watch the fireworks on the AR Queen Riverboat. And the wedding flowers were gorgeous! Aaron and Marc, we had a great time and we're so happy for y'all!

Then on Sunday, we had 2 birthday parties to go to. First, we went to Hayden's one-year-old pirate party. His birthday is the same day as Drew's, but he was at Disney celebrating it. So Valerie and Adam had a big pirate party when they got back. We had fun getting to watch Hayden dig into his treasure (aka cake).
Also, that same day we celebrated (once again) Drew's bday and my brother's bday at my parents house. I bet you're probably thinking that Drew's birthday is never ending, but my parents wanted to make it up, too. Brant's bday was on Sat., so we had a joint dinner for them. Chocolate cake for Uncle Bebo and chocolate chip cookies for Daddy. ME had fun playing with the bubbles, but she all of a sudden has developed a dislike for her uncle. Here are some of the pix from Drew and Brant's dinner.

If you look closely, she's wearing her gold pirate earrings from Hayden's party.
Is this what I get to look forward to when I turn 31?
Seriously, I don't want to turn 28 if I'm going to get socks as a gift.

I guess Uncle B isn't so bad!

Yummy in my tummy!

I took Mary Elizabeth to the doctor last week for her 6-month checkup only to find out that we're still right on track. The most exciting part that Dr. K told us, though, was that we could start putting her on rice cereal. A big treat for ME since I'm still strictly nursing her!

Her stats
Weight: 18 lbs. 9.6 oz. (87.28%)
Head: 17.25 in. (80.81%)
Length: 27 in. (84.04%)

We started giving her rice cereal on July 4th and it's been going great! Here are some pix of her first taste of rice cereal (as blah as it may sound, she loves it!).

Drew couldn't get it in her mouth fast enough.

This isn't milk...

But I like it!

This is her bird face that she makes whenever anything gets close to her face (edible or non).

That was awesome!

This was about 30 minutes afterwards.

Happy Birthday, Daddy (Part 2)!

Since we were in Florida for Drew's birthday, we made it up at his mom's house last week. I wanted to share a few of the pictures from that night. Yes, ME tried vanilla ice cream and loved it...and had a bellyache later! Also, Verna's group of girl friends call themselves the "Deck Girls" and meet on Verna's deck every week to catch up on life. Verna has invited ME to be part of the group as you can see from the shirt in the pix below.

I want cake!

This isn't cake!

Yes, ice cream will work. Will Dr. K approve?

What has VeVe gotten my daughter into?

Yes, I'm a member of a club!

Happy 4th!

The fourth was a little different for us this year since I was in a wedding. Thursday night we went out to Kerri's parents house to watch the grown boys be boys and shoot off fireworks. Mason and ME both liked watching the sparkling lights in the air, but Will wasn't too fond of the loud noises. As for Carter, I don't think it quite phased him as to where he was yet since he's still so young.
